The best part of our job is hearing from customers like Justin who have an emotional connection to their vehicle. It's an honor to help our customers realize their dream of driving these cars/trucks that mean so much to them. Justin's story starts when he was just a kid.

This was my dad's '69 GMC 1500 that he bought new that same year. Unfortunately, my dad passed away when I was 11 but I always had dreams of driving it as my first car even though I knew that it needed a lot of work since it spent most of its life as a farm truck. So I attempted to rebuild it back in 1999 at age 13 not understanding the cost of such an endeavour. Over the years the truck moved around from barn to barn in the Knoxville, TN area and eventually became covered in overgrowth when I finally picked it up in 2015 and brought it to my home in Chattanooga, TN. From then until now I've slowly put in roughly 1,800hrs of mechanical, metal, body and paint work to create what I have to today. I was even able to embroider my dad's and siblings monograms in the seat.

So, when I finally got it road worthy during the pandemic last year I realized that the old 4 speed M20 that I had was not going to cut with it the massive 405 big block w/ high duration racing cam on the highway very well. I started doing a little research and found SST which, oddly enough, is located just a couple miles away from where I attend elementary school in Rockford, TN....small world. Anyhow, the support staff was very helpful and even worked with me so that I could pick my TKO-500 up on saturday. So far I've put about 300 miles on the transmission and it is performing beautifully. Definitely one of the best investments I made on this build. This has truly been a labor of love and I can't wait to start on the next project! Thank you SST for helping bring my dreams to life!
